We decided to open The News Room having three simple reasons:
- to avoid a lot of questions which you might come across
- to keep our Russian Room up-to-date
- to give a feedback for our Guest Book and email correspondence
We will try to keep our website unaffected and not incorporated looking!
You can open The News Room with your "Key", write to us. We welcome any contribution for the News Room.

Dflat team is not sure that it would be a big help (since DFlat represents a different continent) but we want to announce BaBushKeen Dom definitely Bed&Breakfast. It is a great budget accommodation in Vancouver, B.C. Canada. The name means old lady's house and it came from Russian language since one of the inhabitants married to a Russian man. Three sisters are not old at all and today is Alias Alison's birthday! Our congratulations! Please, don't be changed!
So, if you are heading to Vancouver, B.C. be sensible and don't miss BaBushKeen Dom since the sisters are very nice as all Canadians suppose to be. To book write to RussianRoom since sisters don't have the webpage yet. |

Dflat team already experienced enough not to be surprised that easily but we have to admit that yesterday we were astonished! We had Mr. Nono from Indonesia and his old friend Mr. Iouri.
They were not budget travelers or backpackers even they traveled all around the world! Mr. Nono Hardiono is a chief of MIR ASIA (which has offices in several countries) and if he is not father then definitely uncle of Indonesian national car. They became our guests because they were curious about us(slowly but constantly we are moving toward a big fame we started to feel it:). Our stories (some of them absolutely unbelievable) about Russia, Indonesia, Singapore, Bali and the rest of the world lasted till 3am. Thank you very much for 15th flag to Dflat profile, all gifts, an invitation and complements in Indonesian on our billboard! See you again one day…Terima Kasih!

Nathan (from Harvard) thank you for leaving us a tip, as usually we will put it in our Pin-Uppies box and use it for "Free Coffee" tradition which were started by our Marcel residents lovely Joan and Loic in year 2000. So, as you can see we have not only Russian traditions over here…

It is not that much news, today we just want to bring up an old subject what deserve to be mentioned. We are aware that while traveling everybody becomes absent-minded sometimes. We are really glad that you guys relax in The Russian Room environment but it gives us a trouble when you forget things. We already had a situation when one person forgot to pay for his last night stay (It was just once and we take it as an exception). And now we decided to alert you again! Even you leave an unimportant looking thing we don't feel well thinking that it might be a talisman (or an amulet) of significant importance for you. Dany (from Germany), you left all your 6 T-shirts(including 3 from your girl friend from Iowa!) in Dflat, we even can not use these Helmut Kohl size cloths since we are too slim for it as you know… :)

It is The Russia Independent Day today! It is the newest holiday in our country! According to a survey 43% of Russians still are not able to define the name of the holiday and 75% even confuse the colors of a national flag! It goes White, Blue and Red relatively… Russia is changing rapidly!

Dflat team was obliged to post this link on an article we came across in The St. Petersburg Times resent issue. What a title: "A portrait of a flawed genius"! It's a review on "monumental" and "magisterial" Joseph Frank's Dostoevsky project, last 5th volume of which "Dostoevsky: The Mantle of the Prophet, 1871-1881" was published in Princeton University Press. We hope you will enjoy the article as we did! "Dostoevsky funeral was like nothing Russia had ever seen. Fifteen choirs and some 30,000 mourners from the most disparate levels of society made up the cortege…" Anyway some parts of the Dostoevsky puzzle have been left intact…
